Tomorrow, as much of the world is observing the birth of Jesus Christ, looks like we'll also be observing the cultural death of Britain.

Channel 4, a British TV station (publicly owned, according to Wikipedia), will be playing an "Alternative Christmas Message" tomorrow night from none other than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, with this explanation:

"With relations between Iran and the West set to play a central role in world affairs in 2009, Channel 4's Alternative Christmas Message will be delivered by the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad."

Last year, the same address, which seems to be a counter-culture, P.C. affair, was delivered by a wounded British soldier, just back from Afghanistan. How quickly we devolve.

Pontiff Calls for "Ecology of Man," Warns Against New Theories of "Gender"

VATICAN CITY, DEC. 22, 2008 (Zenit.org).- While protecting nature is an essential mission of the Church, it's no more important than protecting the nature of the person, says Benedict XVI.

The Pope spoke today of what he termed an "ecology of man" during his traditional exchange of Christmas greetings with prelates and members of the Roman Curia.

"Given that faith in the Creator is an essential element of the Christian creed, the Church can not and should not limit itself to transmitting to the faithful only the message of salvation," he affirmed. "It also has a responsibility with creation, and it has to fulfill this responsibility in public."

The Pontiff added that while the Church needs to "defend the earth, water, air, as gifts of the creation that belongs to all of us [... ], it must also protect the human being from his own destruction."

"It is necessary that there be something such as an ecology of man, understood in the proper manner," he said.

This human ecology, he affirmed, is based on respecting the nature of the person, and the two genders of masculine and feminine.

"It is not outmoded metaphysics," Benedict XVI affirmed, "when Church speaks of the nature of the human being as man and woman, and demands that this order of creation be respected."

He said it has more to do with "faith in the Creator and listening to the language of creation, the contempt of which will lead to the self destruction of humanity."

The Pope warned against the manipulation that takes place in national and international forums when the term "gender" is altered.

"What is often expressed and understood by the term 'gender,' is definitively resolved in the self-emancipation of the human being from creation and the Creator," he warned. "Man wants to create himself, and to decide always and exclusively on his own about what concerns him."

The Pontiff said this is man living "against truth, against the creating Spirit."

"The rain forests certainly deserve our protection, but man as creature indeed deserves no less," he added.

Benedict XVI explained that great theologians have "qualified marriage, that is to say, the link for life between man and woman, as a sacrament of creation, instituted by the Creator."

"This forms part of the announcement that the Church should offer," he concluded, "in favor of the creating Spirit present in all of nature, and in a special way in the nature of man created in the image of God."

Sarah Palin was a mayor and governor yet unfit for the VP Office but Caroline Kennedy raised some money for a library and that makes her a good senate choice?

The double standard continues. Obama the new President spent less than 2 years in the Senate to become the President. If he wasn't a Democrat, he would have been crucified in the media for "lack of experience." Now where have I heard that statement before? Oh, I remember now, Sarah Palin.

Barney Frank (D-MA) repeated his criticism of President-elect Obama’s decision to invite Rick Warren to deliver the Inaugural invocation, calling Warren’s views on homosexuality “deeply offensive.” Frank said Obama “overestimates his ability” to “charm” conservative opponents to his side, and joked that he missed the days of partisanship:

I think he overestimates his ability to take people — particularly our colleagues on the Right — and sort of charm them into being nice. I know he talks about being post-partisan. But I’ve worked frankly with Newt Gingrich, Tom Delay, and the current Republican leadership. … When he talks about being post partisan, having seen these people and knowing what they would do in that situation, I suffer from post partisan depression.

Last night the wind chill here was as cold as -30°F.

Las Vegas is dealing with more snow than they have seen in nearly 30 years.

For the second year in a row, it has snowed in Malibu.

In Florida, it’s so cold that it’s raining iguanas.

Illinois continues to try to get power back to residents who lost it in a winter storm. Plus, kids are left on the sidewalk because it was so “brutally cold” the school buses wouldn’t start.

Seattle recorded the coldest temperature since 1990, which is one of the 10 warmest years on record.

It was too cold and icy there for some buses to run.

In North Dakota, wind chill temperatures were almost -50° over the weekend.

Copper Mountain, Colorado recorded 100 inches of snow before winter officially started.

Canada may see it’s entire country blanketed in snow for Christmas, the first time that has happened since 1971.

Europe is bracing itself for a “severe cold wave.”

In Thailand, the government says “33 provinces have been affected by extreme cold weather conditions.”

Italy had to deal with the Gore Effect, resulting in record snow…in autumn.

Siberia is dealing with -60°C, or -76°F. That’s without windchill. The record cold there is -69°C.

Seeing that cold weather is far deadlier than warm weather, killing twice as many, I think it’s time to say, “Thanks, Al. Mission accomplished. You can stop now. Please.”

Just when I think the Bush Administration can't become any more anti-free market, they prove me wrong. Not only is he trying to bail out the car companies after the Bill failed in the Senate but he is willing to give money to a PRIVATE COMPANY.

Chrysler is a private company owned by an equity firm. Since when do governments give money to private companies? Especially, when they have $24 Billion in the bank?

Chrysler's CEO said that the Equity Firm had already put Billions into Chrysler and shouldn't have to put more money into the company. What lunacy! If I own a company losing money, I have to put more of the own money in to keep it going.

Is the US Government trying to nationalize the banks and car companies? It is the only answer to this ongoing behavior.
